Prepare the manuscript and cover
Complete editing and proofreading first. Format separate files for eBook and print, and size the full paperback cover to the final trim size, page count and paper choice.
Create accurate book metadata
Use a clear title, subtitle, author name, book description, categories and keywords that accurately represent the book. Avoid misleading claims or keyword stuffing.
Upload, preview and proof
Use the KDP previewer to check margins, page breaks, images and cover alignment. For print editions, order a physical proof whenever possible before approving publication.
Set rights and pricing
Choose the territories where you hold publishing rights, review printing costs, set a sustainable list price and understand the royalty option before publishing.
